There’s a movement happening. Have you felt it? It’s a shift in the way we live our lives – and as a culture are taking back our power in small ways individually, that are creating huge impact globally. It’s an awakening… a recognizing… and it is so empowering. It’s a decentralization of power in our lives – to questioning the spoon-fed beliefs, needs and wants that have been created by a corporate-driven culture that feed our egos – to needs and wants that are driven from our individual needs and feed our souls.
Have you felt it?
Why? Community. Connection. Intimacy. Because we’ve learned that not knowing about where are money is, where our food comes from, and that we don’t know the people that are making decisions for us about our lives in government hasn’t worked.
Here are THREE tips to take back YOUR power.
Local Finance – Commit to moving your money to a local bank. Think about it. Do you want your money in a huge super-bank that is using the assets to create derivative-based strategies (yes, still) to make themselves more money so that they’re stock price will go up?
Or do you want to walk into a bank in your community, where “everybody knows your name?” These are the banks that are giving loans to local small business, financing new office buildings and creating jobs right where you are. For more information and to find a local bank in your community visit www.solari.com.
Local Food – Know your farmer! I cannot tell you how personally gratifying it is to stop at the dairy farm on our way to school and pick up milk, yogurt and our weekly share of produce. The food tastes so good and the only gas required to get it from its source to my refrigerator is from my own vehicle. When it comes to dairy the processes of homogenization and pasteurization are really based on the profitability of the food industry. Raw, locally produced whole-milk provides better nutrition, is easier to digest, and gives your body lots of clean protein and good fat. For resources visit www.realmilk.com.
Most communities have co-op’s, farmer’s markets and online resources to source organic, local produce.
As for the price argument – as a wealth coach, I would encourage you to find other areas in your life to cut expenses versus skimping on the food you put in your body. There is no better way to live up to your worth than to honor yourself enough to buy the best fuel possible for yourself. ‘nough said.
Entrepreneurship – We know that small business is the driver of our economy. It is my belief that this is a trend on the rise, especially for women – and that the means to the flexibility, choice and financial control we are all desperate for can be provided through entrepreneurship. What’s your passion? What’s the thing that you do that is so easy for you that you assume it’s easy for everyone else too? (I assure you, it’s not). There is money right on the tip of your nose.
It doesn’t need to be HUGE. You don’t need to be the creator of the next Spanx. But, you have the POWER to create financial flow in your life. You just may not see it because it’s on the tip of your nose.
